Natasha Richardson, 45, died from a massive brain trauma on Wednesday. She fell while on a skiing lesson and according to the coroner died from “blunt impact” to her head which cause brain bleeding. Her death was ruled an accident Thursday after an autopsy was performed.
It was reported she appeared fine moments after the incident and initially declined to be hospitalised. But then a hour later, she suffered headache and an ambulance took her to a nearby hospital, Centre Hospitalier Laurentien, and later in the day she was taken to Sacre Coeur Hospital in Montreal, where was treated in the intensive care unit.
The family announced her death on Wednesday evening.
Daughter to Oscar-winning mother, Vanessa Redgrave, and wife to Irish actor Liam Neeson, she once joked: “I’ve spent half my life trying to get away from being Vanessa Redgrave’s daughter, and now I’ve got to get away from being Liam Neeson’s wife.”
Her loss will be sadly felt in the industry. Our condolence to the family.
